The Murdér Express Review – An Immersive Dining Experience in London

murder express review

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know I love an immersive dining experience. In my quest to try all of London’s best immersive experiences this summer, I went to the Murder Express Jewel of the Empire from Funicular Productions. This interactive dinner is set aboard a train car in Pedley Street Station in East London. Over the course of the evening, you’ll enjoy a meal onboard the train and become a part of an unraveling murder mystery – think campy Agatha Cristie.

I was invited to experience The Murder Express by Funicular Productions.

No photos or videos were allowed on board, so I can’t show you what it was like, but I can tell you a little about my experience! The train car itself is beautiful. Stepping onto the train is like stepping back in time to the days of high-class train travel. The train car does not move, but it does have screens for windows, and it feels like you’re moving through Europe as you enjoy your meal! I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but I’m sure you’ll be entertained as the mystery unfolds before your eyes. I thought the actors did a really great job interacting with the audience, and my sister absolutely loved the entire performance! I really enjoyed the evening, and I thought the meal was really delicious. The menu was actually created by MasterChef The Professionals winner Laurence Henry, which I thought was a really nice touch.

The Murder Express will be running through April 25th, 2020, and The Jewel of the Empire will be running later that year, so you have plenty of time to experience it if you’re visiting London! Tickets start at 57 GBP.
