Top Sunday Markets in London
Brick Lane Sunday Market– Brick Lane in East London is home to one of London’s most iconic markets. There are several markets that make up the Truman Markets on Brick Lane. Every Sunday, there’s a street market that stretches down Brick Lane with vendors selling street food, antiques, clothing, and more. In addition to the street market, there are several offshoot markets on Brick Lane. Backyard Mark[e1]t is a covered market that offers a range of items like accessories and more. The House of Vegan has a range of vegan vendors selling everything from waffles to Indian food. There’s also an expansive vintage market (more on that below) and a huge indoor food market above the vintage market. You could spend a whole afternoon exploring the Brick Lane Sunday Market, and its variety makes it one of the best Sunday markets in London. The Brick Lane Sunday Market is open from 10-5 on weekends, but the hours of the other offshoot markets vary.
Columbia Road Flower Market– Just north of Brick Lane, you’ll find the lovely Columbia Road Flower Market. This market only runs from 8-3 on Sundays, and its stalls offer a range of fresh-cut flowers at great prices and houseplants! This market gets super crowded as the day goes on, so get there early if you want the best pick of the plants!
Maltby Street Market- This Bermondsey market is a locals’ favorite. This market is open from 11-4 on Sundays (and 12-2:30 on Friday and 10-5 on Saturdays). You can find all sorts of yummy foods and produce at this market!
Southbank Centre Food Market– You can find this market selling different foods along the River Thames, and its open on weekends (on Saturdays from 11-8 and Sundays from 12-6).
Great Markets Open All Week Long
Camden Market- Camden Market is one of the first markets I ever visited in London. This large market is located in the Camden Locks near Primrose Hill, and several of the stores and stalls are open every day. This area can be a little touristy, but there are lots of great specialty shops and restaurants here. I personally love Chin Chin Labs for sweet treats (try their nitrogen ice cream) and the Yorkshire Burrito (which is a full English roast in burrito form).
Greenwich Market– If you’re in southeast London, check out Greenwich Market. you can find a huge range of products here, including antiques, beauty and bath products, and more. This market is open every day from 10-5:30. It may be a bit of a trip from Central London, but there’s a ton of other things to do and see in Greenwich, so you could make a day of it!
Old Spitalfields Market- For a mix of delicious street food and fun clothing, accessories, and knickknacks, visit Old Spitalfields Market. This market is located in the heart of Spitalfields, and it’s a great mix of old and new. On the
Brick Lane Vintage Market- Brick Lane Vintage Market is the perfect market for people in search of unique, retro pieces. This market is open every day in the basement of the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. At this market, you’ll find a number of distinct mini vintage stores. I love that you can find a huge range of products here because each of the stalls is defined by its curator’s taste. I’ve visited this market several times even though I’m not a huge vintage shopper because it’s so interesting to see what’s for sale!
Covent Garden Market- Located in the center of Covent Garden, this market is one of the most popular markets in London for tourists. This market is very pretty, and it’s home to a range of nice brands, but it is pretty touristy. I think this is a great market to walk through while you’re in the area, but I recommend exploring one of the other markets on this list too! There are several fun places to eat in this market. Borough Market- All food lovers visiting London must go to Borough Market. This market has an impressive range of food stalls, encompassing everything from vegan Korean food to quality British cheeses. My personal favorite is the donuts at Bread Ahead, an amazing bakery. I also loved the raw oysters that I got from one of the seafood stalls! In addition to all the stalls in the market, there are a number of delicious sit-down restaurants around the perimeter. I personally love Padella and El Pastor!

I love spending my Sundays in London strolling through the markets. I used to live in east London very close to Brick Lane and Old Spitalfields Market, so I visited these markets practically every weekend! Brick Lane is one of my favorite markets because it’s so vibrant and diverse, but Borough Market is my go-to when I want to try lots of different foods!
