Viva Las Vegas – Celebrating My 21st Birthday on The Strip

Last month, I celebrated my 21st birthday with a trip to Las Vegas with my family! The last time I was in Las Vegas, it my 12th birthday, so it was a whole new world for me this time around! We are huge fans of The Hangover movies (could probably quote the entire movie as a family), so we had to stay at Caesar’s Palace! We loved the giant Roman-themed pools and the nearby Forum shops!

We had some amazing meals while we were in Vegas. The first night, we went to Rose Rabbit Lie, a restaurant with live music and interactive performances throughout the evening. The food was incredible, and I loved the elegant but kitschy and lively atmosphere. I expected a campy dinner-theater style performance, but the singers were amazing and hilarious, and someone even tap-danced on the piano! This was a super cool dining experience, and I highly recommend going if you can get reservations!

Other notable meals and snacks include the steak frites at Mon Ami Gabi (at Paris), sushi at Tao ( at the Venetian), and french pastries at Jean-Philippe Patisserie (multiple locations). I also had to visit an In-N-Out while out west!

One morning, we went down to Fremont Street to see the old casinos, like the Golden Nugget. They also have zip lines that you can ride under the overhead light display that covers Fremont Street! We didn’t do this because it was daytime when we went and the lights weren’t on, but it seemed like a fun nighttime activity! After checking out Fremont, we went over to Container Park, a shopping and restaurant area built entirely from shipping containers. We had yummy tacos at Pinches Tacos before heading back to the Strip (and to air conditioning!!!!).

On Friday night, we saw the Britney Spears show, and it was amazing! We were SO CLOSE to her! It was seriously the most exciting night ever – I’m not sure I’ve ever screamed so loud. If you’re a Britney fan, this is a MUST!

On Saturday, my birthday, we wandered around the Strip, shopped, and visited fun casinos like The Venetian. I love how themed everything is in Las Vegas! The Venetians and Paris are my favorites because they remind me so much of the original cities they’re based on! We took a gondola ride inside the Venetian and the gondolier even sang me happy birthday. That night, we saw La Reve at the Wynn, which was mind-blowingly cool. This show has a mix of acrobatics. synchronized swimming, dance, and more, and it is seriously so cool. If you’re looking to see a cirque-style show while visiting Las Vegas, I’d recommend checking out La Reve!

That’s it for my trip to Las Vegas! Have you ever been before? Tell me what you did in the comments below!

  1. Happy belated birthday! What a great way to spend your 21st! So memorable. I can’t believe you saw Britney Spears as well. I didn’t realise she still performed haha. Looks like a brilliant trip.

  2. What a seriously fun way to celebrate your 21st birthday! πŸ˜€ The Vegas Strip is definitely a wild time, but it sounds like you got to explore it thoroughly and go to some exciting shows (especially a BS show; I have an acquaintance who went to one of her shows in Vegas for her 30th birthday, and she swears it was the best day of her entire life). Staying at Caesar’s Palace made me giggle; I’ve watched The Hangover far too many times and bet that was a blast. Thanks for sharing.

    1. It was such a fun way to celebrate! Britney was amazing I’m pretty sure it was the best day of my life and my mom’s life. We walked into Caesar’s and couldn’t help but ask if the real Caesar lived there πŸ˜‰ Thanks for the nice comment!

  3. Definitely a good birthday if you’re spending it in Vegas! Caesar’s has forever been on my list since it is featured in so many movies. Interesting to know about Container Park.
